Tesfu Gessesse

Tesfu Gessesse is the Director of CORE (Community Organisation for Race Equality).

He has an MSc in Social Sciences (Glasgow Caledonian University), a Post Graduate Certificate in Community Education (Moray House Institute of Education, Edinburgh), an HND in Accounting from Napier University of Edinburgh and a Professional Certificate in Management from the Open University.

Tesfu is also a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Tesfu has substantial years of experience at middle and senior management levels in National and International Humanitarian organisations, including the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Sudan.

Tesfu has also been the chair of Africa Centre Scotland, Edinburgh and Lothian Racial Equality Council, EMPOWER Scotland, and a member of the board of directors of several organisations such as the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, NHS Education and the UK Civil Rights Movement.
