Sophia Latif
Sophia Latif is in post as a temporary Project Worker for Communities for Social Change. She is actively working to:
Sophia has a vast amount of experience of working with the minority ethnic and disadvantaged communities in Edinburgh. She has a solid understanding of the issues relating to under representation and under achievement of people from disadvantaged groups. She has good working experience of involvement in people oriented work with a proven record of being able to influence people. Sophia believes if community development work can accurately reflect local aspirations and needs and involve local people, it can, in the long term, make a difference to people’s lives. It is with these strong beliefs that she is working towards combating racial and social injustice. Sophia is currently studying for a Health and Social degree with the Open University which she hopes will enable her furthermore to develop a sound and critical understanding of policy, theory and practice in health and social care.
