Welcome to Communities for Social ChangeCommunities for Social Change is an offshoot of the Black Community Development Project, a registered charity that is now called CORE (Community Organisation for Race Equality).
The Black Community Development Project was established in August 1991 by the local indigenous white community, mainly from Muirhouse, one of the areas of Greater Pilton in Edinburgh (an area with multiple deprivation). The aim of BCDP/CORE is to challenge the marginalisation and oppression of minority ethnic people in Greater Pilton. Its establishment is based on recognition that racial harassment and discrimination deters minority ethnic residents from using local services and taking a pro-active role in articulating their needs around service provision. The organisation also recognises the discrimination and social exclusion experienced by other communities and has been fighting for Social Justice for all. |

Comic Relief gave C4SC a research grant to work with our local partner organisation - Mothers and Children Multisectoral Development Organisation (MCMDO) Ethiopia - to conduct research into the issues that affect Street Children and Young People in Adama, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. C4SC and MCMDO commissioned StreetInvest UK to carry out the research in Adama. The research was carried out by two consultants; Ms Felix Holman of StreetInvest and Mr Tabor Gebremedhin Wordofa, a local consultant based in Addis Ababa.
The PDF version of the report is in two parts, the first is for all of the pages with portrait orientations, and the second for those with landscape orientation.
